Our Team
President/Founder
Background: Steven is a CPA and has over 30 years of experience and joined the international firm of Ernst & Young after graduate school, where he became a partner with a thriving practice at Los Angeles based CPA firm Parks Palmer Turner & Yemenidjian - before joining Epitaph Records in 1995 as their CFO. Barlevi & Company was formed in 2002. Steven brings with him a spirit of directness and boundless energy, leading a team of highly skilled professionals and support staff in servicing client needs. Steven sits on the board of various charities in Los Angeles.
Summary of Work: Steven undertakes all types of media and entertainment industry client work with particular expertise in the field of music, motion pictures and commercial production; and, is a recognized expert in these industries. Steven has also served as an expert witness for business litigation matters involving the music and entertainment industries.
Skills and approach: Steven brings people together and facilitates deals in a manner that goes well beyond conventional accounting. Steven likes to think “out of the box” and achieves solutions to problems which to others may seem impossible. Steven's tenacity, and his ability to communicate and lead, are attributes which contribute greatly to his success in encouraging client’s to take charge of their businesses. Steven has an excellent track record for achieving his clients’ aims but above all is pragmatic and is realistic about what can be achieved. Steven also takes into account commercial realities, speed, the cost of time and the stress which can be involved in business processes.

Director of Business Management
A senior account manager who has been with the firm since its inception. Frank has over 15 years of experience managing complex client accounts. Also, as a lover of music (and a professional musician and songwriter), Frank has valuable expertise in music industry accountancy matters including the administration of music royalties and publishing; and, the accounting for live performance musical tour productions. Outside of the office, Frank enjoys hiking the mountain regions throughout Southern California.

Client Relations/Marketing Director
Susan has extensive experience working with the firm’s clients in the entertainment and related media industries. Having spent several years living and working abroad, Susan specializes as a liaison to the firm’s extensive international client base. She is known for solving complex problems as they arise. Susan oversees the firm’s marketing and public relations. Outside of the office, and with a passion for music and dance, Susan spends her time studying dance, choreography, watching comedy and mixing & arranging music.

Director of Taxation
Gary is the firm’s senior tax advisor and accountant and has been with the firm since January 2005. An outstanding accountant, he possesses the coveted skills necessary to analyze and resolve the most complex of accounting problems.
Gary is licensed as a CPA in the State of Illinois. Gary is also licensed as an attorney in Illinois and holds a real estate broker license in the State of California. Gary received his B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University; and his JD from St. Louis University School of Law. Also, Gary is an enrolled agent with the IRS.
When he is not working, Gary loves to attend concerts and follow professional sports.

Senior Accountant
Oranuch is a senior account manager and tax accountant and has been with the firm since January of 2006.
She lends valuable expertise to the firm as a very conscientious and analytical senior accountant. Oranuch hikes, plays tennis and likes to watch movies in her spare time.
